Software updates might not be available to you depending on your region and service provider.You should regularly create and save a device backup file on your computer, especially before you update any device software.After you restore your device to its default settings, you can run the setup application on your device to set up the device again.Before you begin, you should back up your data so that you have a copy of the data on your computer.You can close Steam and/or restart your computer at any time while downloading with Steam.You do not need to manually pause the download before closing Steam or rebooting; the download is paused automatically and resumed next time you start Steam.For the majority of our users, Family Tree Maker installs without problems.However, if you are experiencing issues installing Family Tree Maker, please see the steps listed below.

End any Thunderbird processes that may still be active, either manually or by restarting your computer.
Once all instances of Thunderbird have been ended or after the computer starts up again, restart Thunderbird to see if the updater is now working.
Maintaining a current backup file on your computer might allow you to recover device data if your network, software updates are automatically downloaded and installed on your device.
When this feature is turned on, you aren't notified when an update starts installing, but you may be asked to restart your device to complete the installation.
